Status reference

Every status that appears on the dashboard, what it means, and what an operator should do about it.

Operator statuses

Status Meaning What to do
invited Email sent, account not yet activated. Wait, or resend the invite.
active Logging in normally. Nothing.
disabled Login revoked. Re-enable if access should be restored.

Customer (organization) onboarding statuses

Status Meaning Can transact? Operator action
created Record exists, KYC link emailed, customer hasn't started. No Resend the link if needed.
verifying Customer is filling in KYC / KYB on the provider's hosted flow. No Wait.
verified Provider has approved verification; VA is being provisioned. No (briefly) Wait - usually under a minute.
active Fully onboarded; VA live. Yes Top up, send payouts, etc.
rejected Provider declined. No Contact your Magma success channel.
review Compliance flag raised, activity paused. No Contact your Magma success channel.
suspended Magma or compliance has suspended the account. No Contact Magma.

Transaction statuses

Status Meaning What to do
created Record exists, not yet sent to the rail. Brief. Nothing - usually transitions within seconds.
pending Submitted to the upstream provider. Wait.
processing Provider has accepted and is moving the money. Wait.
completed Settled at the rail. Done.
failed Hard failure at some step. Read the failure reason on the transaction; usually retry from scratch with corrected data.
action_required Provider needs additional information from your fintech. Open the transaction, follow the prompt.
under_review Compliance review in progress. Wait. Contact Magma if it stays here >24 h.
returned Provider returned the funds (e.g. wrong account). Customer's balance is credited back. Investigate the return reason; usually re-attempt with corrected recipient details.
expired Crypto-to-fiat deposit address expired without a deposit. Re-create the payout if you still need to send.
canceled Operator or system canceled the transaction. None.

Crypto deposit (within a crypto-to-fiat payout)

Status Meaning
awaiting_deposit Address generated, customer hasn't sent yet. Expires in 24 h.
deposit_detected On-chain deposit seen, awaiting confirmations.
processing Confirmed on-chain, conversion in progress.
completed Wire delivered to the recipient.
expired 24 h elapsed without a deposit.

On-ramp deposit (deposit_crypto)

Status Meaning
created Bank wire received and matched to a crypto VA; on-ramp lifecycle started.
pending / waiting_for_sender Awaiting upstream confirmation of the inbound funds.
processing USD → stablecoin conversion in progress; on-chain transfer queued.
completed Stablecoin credited to the destination wallet.
failed / returned / canceled / expired Terminal failure states - read the failure reason on the transaction.

Virtual account statuses

Crypto VAs (and the new generation of fiat VAs) expose a lifecycle state on the dashboard - shown as a Provisioning badge on the wallet card when pending:

Status Meaning What to do
pending The upstream provider is still allocating the account. Deposit coordinates aren't available yet. Wait. Usually 1–2 minutes for crypto VAs.
active Coordinates assigned; ready to receive deposits. Share the coordinates with the customer.
suspended The upstream provider deactivated or blocked the account. Contact Magma support.

Recipient statuses

Recipients themselves don't expose a state machine in the dashboard, but compliance review can hold a recipient out of use briefly after creation. You'll see them in the picker as soon as they're cleared.
